Hi everyone, my name is Kara, I am Budgie & Marie's Daughter ( Owners of Glenhope)

I’m setting this up because Glenhope Bush Camp isn’t just another place to camp it’s something genuinely special and I believe it’s worth fighting for.

We all have a real love for the NSW outback. It’s the people, the simplicity, the openness and the atmosphere you just can’t replicate anywhere else. Places like Glenhope are what make travelling through regions like Cobar memorable. They give you a place to stop, connect, reset and experience the outback the way it’s meant to be.

After 9 years of seeing my parents build something incredible for travellers and the local community of Cobar to Benefit from, the camp is now closed due to compliance costs, Transport NSW & Council requesting state road upgrades to be funded by my parents the landowners of Glenhope. Then local council will approve them to be a Registered Primitive Campground.

Glenhope Bush Camp has supported Cobar and its local businesses for 9 years. Travellers passing through don’t just stay at the camp, they fuel up in town, buy supplies, support local shops and contribute to the community, an spread the word to others.

When Glenhope closed, it’s not just a campground that shuts its gates the whole town now feels the impact.

What our family have built over the past 9 years is more than a campground. It’s a community hub, a meeting place and a true outback experience that so many people have come to love, an with the cost of living expenses its a FREE place to stay which makes alot of difference to travellers.

Right now, we're facing significant costs to meet approval conditions by Transport NSW & Council, road upgrades and new facilities just to be able to reopen.

This fundraiser is about helping them get there.

If you’ve ever stayed at Glenhope, passed through Cobar, or simply believe in supporting small regional communities and keeping places like this alive, any contribution big or small will make a difference.
