The Alexander Centre, affectionately known as The Alex, is more than just a building, it is a place where our community comes together.

For years, it has provided a home for music, theatre, arts, celebrations, meetings, community groups and countless shared experiences. It is a place where memories are made, creativity flourishes and people connect.

But its future is never guaranteed.

The Alex is not council-owned, it is an independent not-for-profit organisation which doesn’t receive any external funding currently. This means, as with all community services, it relies on the support of its community to continue operating and providing this vital space for Faversham.

We are asking everyone who cares about The Alex to help us raise the funds needed to support this much-loved venue, keep it available to everyone and make some important improvements for the future.

As many people will know, we suffered major fire damage on 31st December 2025, which has taken our main function hall out of action for a year. Whilst fully insured for the repairs to the main hall, there are improvements to the facilities that are long overdue.

The money raised will help us make additional enhancements to the bar area – addressing the acoustics and reorganising the space to increase operational efficiency thereby improving the experience for everyone. We will also be making much-needed upgrades and expansion to the toilets, including the accessible toilet, making these facilities more spacious and suitable for our visitors.

Our fundraising target is £25,000. Whether you can give £5, £20, £50 or more, every contribution will help support this work and make a real difference to this much-loved community venue.
