I want to be clear about what it is. I don't write the news or make the videos. T Shocked brings together what's already out there:

Irish and EU news from the outlets and YouTube channels people already follow
profiles of the public figures, NGOs and Irish institutions in the headlines, from RTÉ and the GAA and the political parties
laws in Ireland and the EU that have been proposed, are in progress, have passed or have failed and Ideologies that are getting spread.
My aim is to make it easier to see what's actually happening, with as little spin as possible.

How it works

Every day the site gathers news stories and videos from Irish outlets and YouTube channels.
AI reads the original source. For videos that means the actual transcript where there is one; otherwise it's the title, description and viewer comments. It then writes a short summary in its own words.
A second automatic check compares each summary with the original and removes anything the source doesn't support.
Every story links back to the original article or video, so you can check it yourself.
Anything the AI isn't confident about is flagged in a "Needs review" box, not stated as fact.
Profiles of public figures, NGOs and institutions are built from public sources: official registers, annual reports, audit and inquiry records, and reputable reporting. They cover where the money comes from, including public money, the historical record, the hard questions people want answered, and what people are saying right now.
Institution profiles check the news every day, with scandals, investigations and court cases first. The historical record is re-checked every week.
Laws come straight from the official records of the Oireachtas and the European Parliament, not written by AI. Each one gets a plain-English summary that is checked against the official text.
Every source link is checked automatically before it goes on the site. A link that's broken or can't be verified is removed, not published.
I'm upfront that this is AI summarisation, not human journalism. It can be wrong. That's why every claim links to its source, and anyone named can ask for a correction or a right of reply.

What the money pays for

Running this costs real money every month in AI usage. I'm asking for €400 to cover a year:

Gemini (Google AI) credits: the AI reads, summarises and fact-checks the news, and does the research for the profiles and laws.
TranscriptAPI credits: these fetch the transcripts of YouTube videos, so the summaries are based on what was actually said, not just the title.
€350 goes on those credits. The other €50 covers GoFundMe's fees and a small buffer.

If I raise more than the goal, it goes straight back into more daily research on more profiles. If I can't cover the cost, the daily updates will have to slow down or stop.

What you get

The site stays free to read, with no paywall and no ads.
I'll post a short update once the year's credits are spent, saying what they covered, so you can see where the money went.
If you can't donate, sharing the page helps just as much.
