Hello, my name is Shayla. My family consists of four people: my father, my mother, my sister, and me. My father has always been the one who works as hard as he can to support us, since all he’s wanted is to have a happy family. My mother cannot work because she has a lot of medical issues, and happens to also be disabled.

Over 40 years ago, my father was falsely arrested for a crime that he did not commit. He had not been in the states for a long time, so he knew little English and how the American Justice system worked. They put my father in prison for a few years and then released him. He then met my mother, and had built a new life with my mom and then having us. He has gone through so much just to have a family. Our lives were happy in the past years, everything went very well. We were the most lucky children to have such a great and hardworking father.

But now, the joy is gone because my dad is being detained and deported. We are lost, disappointed and miserable right now since everything just happened so quick. We will not have my father by our side anymore. He will not see his youngest child graduate high school and start college anymore. For that reason, please help my family, so that I can take care of my mother and sister during this difficult time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
