Keep Sandy Counts Hester in Her Home

Hello, my name is Angie Counts, and I am fundraising on behalf of my mother, Sandy Counts Hester. We are raising $1,685 to cover her overdue rent for one month.

In July 2023, my mother was admitted to the hospital due to shortness of breath. Since then, she has had frequent hospitalizations, and I have taken family medical leave to support my brother, who is her full-time caretaker.

During one of her hospitalizations, my mother fell behind on her rent payments and now has only three months to make up the rent or face eviction.

Our family is hardworking, and my mother is a retiree from United Airlines, one of the first Black women to work for a top airline in the US. She is also a writer, and I followed in her footsteps as a screenwriter and part-time screenwriting instructor. My brother is an artist and currently my mother's caretaker. Due to our limited income, we are reaching out to raise these funds.

She is steadily improving, and we look forward to her being able to receive in-home care and have greater independence, and we pray, recovery of her health.
