Keep Riccardo Home!

Many people around the world are struggling right now in regards to COVID-19. It is overwhelming knowing where to start and how to help... There are endless ways for those of us who are privileged to help!
Riccardo Palombo is one of many people who are as of today 4th April 2020, directed to uproot their lives and leave Australia. Our Prime Minister has instructed all international students (pretty much anyone not a citizen) to leave our shores and return home. Not only is this devastating to the life he has built here, the relationships he's built (that's his partner Glynn in the photo), studies and work but his home is Italy. His home is sadly not coping with this pandemic as well as we are and this puts his life at even greater risk.
This GoFundMe has been set up by me, one his friends to help financially support him over the course of the next 3 months. To give him a fighting chance of safely staying here in Australia (legally!!!).
My goal is to raise $3,000 AUD This will allow him to continue paying rent and essential items for exactly 3 months.
- Any funds raised over the original goal of $6,700 (6 months of support) will go directly to other GoFundMe initiatives.
- If at any point Riccardo is able to attain permanent work, funds will again be directed to other GoFundMe initiatives.
- He is willing to exchange donations for legitimate work that is safe and adheres to current isolation measures.
This is not about taking advantage of the situation and raising more than is needed BUT for absolute minimal survival. He is not eligible for any Australian Government stimulus packages or work relief. This campaign is to raise awareness and ensure Riccardo's safety and ability to stay where his real HOME and FUTURE is.
Riccardo is in the process of applying for permanent residency, has volunteered his time for those less fortunate and contributed to the AU economy. He deserves help! I want to acknowledge that in no way is he more deserving than others out there. If you feel your support is better suited to others. Go support them, I know Ricca would if he could.
