Jonmichael and his partner Chloe are taking big steps and will be having a baby soon. They've moved to Arizona to be near family and actually afford to live. JM has a job at a pizza place and is still using his cargo bike for work but with the baby coming soon they have chosen to sell his most prized possession (his Bullitt cargo bike) in order to secure a few months worth of rent as a safety net when the baby comes. We think this is a tragedy!
JM is a bike courier and the most selfless person we know. He devotes alot of his spare time using the cargo bike to gather food and deliver it to those in need, besides devoting personal time to deliver to those in need and clean up trash he organizes his community to do the same.
For instance one Christmas he organized a food drive where he routed a bunch of folks in the Seattle bike community to locations around the city where he setup donation drop offs, they then road around making deliveries to those in need.
He and his partner are seriously just the best people and really deserve the best life can give them as they transition to Parenthood.
We are hoping to secretly get the money he is asking for his bike together as a community to send to him as a gift so he is not forced to sell. We have had him take down his ads saying that we will be "buying" it, but we need to act fast! We hope to close this and send what we have gathered together by the end of the week.
If we can get 100 donors at around $20 each we will be able to cover the total he needs easily.
Thank you,
The team at Seattle Messenger Cooperative.
