Help Us Replace the Kitchen A/C at Post 245
Nittany American Legion – "The Legion in the Woods"
The kitchen at Nittany American Legion Post 245 is the heart of our building. It’s where meals are made for veterans, families, fundraisers, and community events that bring us all together.
Unfortunately, the kitchen air conditioner has completely failed—and with summer approaching, it’s quickly becoming an unsafe space for anyone to work in.
We need to raise $23,000 to replace the failed system and make the required upgrades so we can keep serving meals, hosting events, and providing for our community.
Why It’s Urgent
The kitchen is more than just a room—it’s where we come together to cook, serve, and connect. It supports:
- Veterans’ dinners and memorial events
- Community fundraisers and family celebrations
- Holiday meals and youth programs
Without working A/C, the heat and humidity will shut everything down.
We can't serve hot meals from a 100-degree kitchen.
Where Your Support Goes
Your donations will help us cover:
- A complete replacement of the failed commercial-grade kitchen air conditioner
- Installation labor and parts
- Electrical and ventilation upgrades required by code
- A hail shield
- Preventive maintenance to extend the life of the new system
Every dollar goes straight to getting the kitchen back online—no fluff.
Help Keep the Legion Cooking
If you’ve ever shared a plate of food at Post 245, served a dish from that kitchen, or attended an event that left you feeling a little more connected—this is your chance to help.
$23,000 is a big number, but together we can get there.
If just 500 people give $46—or 230 give $100—we’re there.
We Appreciate You
We know times are tight. But if you’re able to give, share, or simply spread the word, it means the world to us. Our members and volunteers work hard every day to serve others—and this summer, we’re asking for a little help in return.
Let’s keep the kitchen open. Let’s keep Post 245 strong.
