Hi! We are Eliana, N'vai, and Andrés.

Recently, a nonprofit that had been operating in our community for over 15 years, and in which we were involved in different ways, had to close its doors. Instead of letting everything come to an abrupt end, the community came together to form Corazón Comunitario (Community Heart): a new nonprofit to continue to meet the needs of the people who participated in the programs offered by the organization that closed, such as low cost English classes, homework help, mental and physical health programming, career skills, self defense, music, and art workshops.

Our goal is to provide, not only to those who attended the closed foundation, but also the community in general, with a space where they can gather, feel at home, and build lasting relationships. We also aim to equip them with tools for better opportunities in life.

We are starting with limited resources but a strong commitment to working for the benefit of the community. That's why we have launched this campaign to raise the necessary funds to sustain our new non-profit. We want to continue offering English classes to those who seek to improve their educational and employment prospects but cannot afford courses at larger institutions. With more resources, we can expand our offerings to serve more members of the community, as we already have full classes and an active waiting list. We also aim to provide a technology workshops where children and youth can learn to utilize the tools that are widely available but often underutilized. Additionally, we want to nurture creativity in children and adolescents through our music and art workshops.

It hasn't been easy, but we are working tirelessly to make our vision a reality. In just a few short months, we have already shared in community events such as a Halloween party, a summer camp that included a fieldtrip to the local university, and a trimester of English classes for kids and adults. Every donation we receive will help us maintain our community center and deliver our services to the local people. With your support, we can cover rent for the space we are using, purchase necessary materials for our programs, and meet essential operational expenses to keep running. As a team, we are resourceful, strategic, community-informed, and dedicated to ensuring the greatest impact of the donations we receive.

Imagine the smile on someone's face when they can communicate in English for the first time, the look of surprise on a child's face when they understand how a computer works from the inside, or the joy of a mother receiving her child's artwork as a gift from our workshops. We are honored to be a part of that impact here in our community center, but we cannot do it alone. We need your support to keep our community center open and ensure the people of Valle Los Chillos, our community, continue to receive the support they need.

Hola! Somos Eliana, N’vai y Andrés.

Hace poco una non-profit que funcionó en nuestra comunidad por más de 15 años, y en la que nosotros colaboramos de diferentes maneras, tuvo que cerrar sus puertas, y en lugar de dejar que todo se termine de un momento para otro, decidimos crear una nueva fundación para seguir sirviendo a las personas que participaban en los programas que ofrecía la organización que cerró, como clases de inglés, tareas dirigidas, talleres de música y arte, entre otros.

Nuestro objetivo es proporcionar, no solo a quienes asistían a la fundación que cerró, sino a la comunidad en general, un espacio para que puedan reunirse, sentirse como en casa y crear relaciones duraderas, así como darles herramientas para que tengan mejores oportunidades en la vida.

Estamos empezando con recursos limitados, pero con muchas ganas de trabajar en beneficio de la comunidad, y por eso decidimos lanzar esta campaña para recaudar los fondos necesarios para poder mantener nuestra nueva non-profit funcionando. Queremos seguir ofreciendo clases de inglés para aquellas personas que quieren mejorar sus oportunidades educativas o laborales, pero que no pueden permitirse pagar por un curso en un instituto grande. Queremos ofrecer un taller de tecnología en el que los niños y jóvenes puedan aprender a usar las herramientas que están al alcance de la mayoría de personas, pero que muy pocos saben usar correctamente. Y queremos fomentar la creatividad en los niños y adolescentes mediante nuestros talleres de música y arte.

Sabemos que no será fácil, pero estamos dispuestos a trabajar muy duro para que nuestra visión se haga realidad. Cada donación que recibamos nos ayudará a mantener funcionando nuestro centro comunitario y ofreciendo nuestros servicios a las personas de la localidad. Con tu apoyo podremos pagar la renta del espacio que estamos usando, comprar los materiales que necesitamos para nuestros programas, así como cubrir los gastos operativos necesarios para seguir funcionando.

Imagina la sonrisa de alguien que logra comunicarse en inglés por primera vez, la cara de sorpresa de un niño que entiende cómo funciona una computadora por dentro, o la felicidad de una madre que recibe como regalo el cuadro que su hijo pintó en uno de nuestros talleres. Estamos dispuestos a dar lo mejor de nosotros para que eso suceda, pero no podemos hacerlo solos. Necesitamos tu apoyo para que nuestro centro comunitario pueda seguir abierto y las personas de Sangolquí, nuestra comunidad, puedan seguir recibiendo el apoyo que necesitan.
