Help Keep OOH La La Painting Studio Open – A Safe Creative Haven for Women

OOH La La Painting Studio is more than a business — it is a ministry, a refuge, and a creative home for women who need encouragement, connection, and healing.

For the past six months, I have opened the doors to women ages 20–90, many of whom feel stressed, anxious, lonely, or unseen. Here, they find a safe, joyful, pressure-free environment to relax, create, and rediscover themselves through art. No experience is needed — just a willing heart, a paintbrush, and often “art therapy & a cup of tea.”

This studio exists to reach unchurched women through love, respect, acceptance, encouragement, and creativity — loving them just as Jesus would. My calling is to teach painting while helping women build self-confidence, peace, and community through creative expression.

A Life Changed Through Art Therapy

One of the most powerful moments at OOH La La Painting Studio came through our Healing Wings Workshop. A 64-year-old woman attended who had carried deep childhood trauma for nearly 60 years. This workshop gently invites women to write what they have never been able to say — to someone who hurt them, to someone they lost, or to pain they have carried silently — onto a canvas.

Once written, the words are lovingly covered with painted paper, fabric, ribbons, and texture, forming angel wings over what was written. This process reflects Psalm 91:

“God will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge.”

For the first time in her life, this woman was able to express words she had never spoken. After the workshop, she found the courage to share her truth with her mother and later shared that she felt a burden she had carried for nearly 60 years had been lifted.

This is why this studio exists.

This is why keeping these doors open matters.

Why I’m Asking for Help

Although momentum is growing, OOH La La Painting Studio is not yet able to fully cover:

• Rent

• Utilities

• Art supplies

• Basic overhead expenses

I have not taken a salary. This work is my give-back, my ministry, and my calling. However, to continue serving these women and allow this mission time to grow sustainably, I need help covering the next six months of operating expenses & buy supplies for those who cannot pay.
