My brother, Noel Lopez, who’s a son, brother, friend, and lover, is currently being held in county jail and faces possible detention by ICE.
He and his fiancée have been together since November 2024, and this has been the hardest time of our lives. Noel has lived in the U.S. since he was two and a half years old. He’s never had any criminal record—this situation began when he was in a car with a friend who was stopped for marijuana possession two years ago. Even though his friend admitted fault, Noel now faces a warrant and the threat of deportation.
Noel is the heart of our family. He’s a high school graduate, a hard worker, and someone who always puts others first. He supports his fiancée emotionally, mentally, and financially, and he’s the reason she was able to plan for nursing school. Our families are devastated, and his siblings, who are legal residents, can’t imagine life without him. If he’s deported, he’ll be separated from everyone he loves and everything he’s built here.
We’re raising funds to cover urgent legal fees and, if possible, a bond so Noel can fight his case from home instead of a detention center. We are struggling every day without him, unable to eat or sleep, and we fear for his safety and our future. Any support will help us keep Noel safe and give us hope for a better outcome. Thank you for standing with us during this incredibly difficult time.
