Muir Woods is at risk of closing again during the government shutdown, but we can keep it open together.

My company, Must See Tours and ExplorUS, has already donated $83,940.70 to keep this natural treasure accessible through November 11th, 2025. We've kept park employees working and the gates open for 10 days so far, but we can't do it alone.

We need your help to extend that timeline. Every dollar keeps Muir Woods open longer, supports dedicated park staff, and ensures the public can continue to experience one of California's most iconic natural wonders during this uncertain time.

Muir Woods National Monument is one of the most treasured natural landmarks in the United States. Every year, close to one million of people from around the world travel to experience its towering redwoods, peaceful trails, and the sense of awe it inspires.

Right now, this treasure is at risk. With the federal government shutdown, the park is unable to remain staffed and open to the public. That means canceled visits, lost jobs, devastated local businesses, and disappointed families who came to San Francisco for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Rather than watch the gates close, we at Must See took the initiative to bring together local partners to fund the reopening of Muir Woods for 10 days. With the support of the National Park Service, Must See Tours and ExplorUS, we’ve already managed to reopen the park temporarily. But the cost is $3,794.07 per day—and without more help, it will not be sustainable.

This is where you can make a difference.
Why This Matters

Protecting Jobs: Park staff, guides, and local businesses depend on Muir Woods being open. Every day closed means lost income.

Supporting Tourism: Visitors cancel their trips to San Francisco when Muir Woods is closed, which hurts the entire local economy.

Preserving Access: These redwoods belong to everyone. Keeping the park open ensures families, travelers, and locals can continue to enjoy them—even in difficult times.

Standing Together: This initiative shows what is possible when a community comes together to protect its public lands.

How Funds Will Be Used

100% of donations will go directly to cover the costs required by the National Park Service to keep Muir Woods open during the shutdown.

Funds will pay for staffing, operations, and basic services so the park can safely welcome visitors.

Any extra funds raised beyond the shutdown period will be contributed to the park’s long-term preservation efforts.

Call to Action

We believe no visitor should be turned away from the beauty of Muir Woods because of a shutdown. Every contribution—large or small—helps keep the gates open another day.

Donate today and be part of history. Together, we can ensure that Muir Woods remains open for everyone to experience.
