My friend Kirsty and I are climbing Kilimanjaro this August! Not sure if 1am decisions on a drizzly January night are ever a smart thing. But hey, we are doing it. I'm grasping on to Kirsty's energy to get us there.
To keep us going to the very top (aside from carrying our pride in our 40L rucksacks), I will be donating to Princess Alice Hospice. A charity that aided my uncle Adrian in his very last days.
Princess Alice Hospice are a local hospice, dedicated to providing care and support for people with life-limiting conditions.
Adrian tragically passed away this year. Too young to go, and certainly too good. The grip he had on the world was truly inspiring. Challenging and bizarre situations would not have phased him, actually quite the opposite. Something I found much more about after his passing.
A true, 'once in a lifetime' soul - with, or without Talking Heads in the equation.
Any donations to keep our sanity high, altitude sickness low and general cause for good, would be extremely appreciated.. and we will (hopefully) see you on the other-side, Kili . ;)
