Help keep Mauka and Makai home
Aloha friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,
We’re reaching out with open hearts to ask for your kōkua in protecting our precious keikis, Mauka (1 year, 8 months) and Makai (5 months).
We’re amidst a painful legal battle.
Their biological mother has repeatedly abused the love of our Ohana. She is currently trying to take them away to Boston, far from the only home they’ve ever known, and the ‘ohana that loves them most.
We’re doing everything we can to fight for these boys safety and stability here on Kaua‘i, but we need help. With the help of our community, we are looking to fundraise to cover legal costs and ensure Mauka and Makai remain in the care of their grandparents and extended family who raise them with love, consistency, and aloha every single day.
Why It Matters
Mauka and Makai are growing up surrounded by love, culture, and connection. Here on Kaua‘i, they are part of a strong, grounded community. Taking them away would not only uproot them from the people who raise them. It would also take them from their identity, heritage, and emotional foundation.
This is not just a legal matter. It’s a fight for their future.

With love and gratitude,
The Kali & Kilar ‘Ohana
