Keep Marine Ave Quaint & Historical

Donation protected
In 2017, a group of self-appointed individuals proposed to City Council that dramatic changes be made on Marine Ave in the form of a redevelopment project. The redevelopment plan included the removal of donated benches (public furniture), sidewalks, lights, street, and signage. To make way for the new and upscale look, the plan included the removal of our magnificent and designated Special heritage trees. The  proposed changes would completely change the historical charter of our 'main' street forever.

** Now, due to the past redevelopment effort, no street in the City of Newport Beach has ever been under such scrutiny. **

Our efforts to date has brought community awareness to this issue and we continue to make good progress (see completed goals below).
We are currently in phase two of our efforts to PROTECT and PRESERVE the original character of Marine Ave and our designated Special trees.
