Keep Maggie Free and Housed

Maggie Rasch is an Arcata community member, trans refugee, activist, and most importantly our friend. As part of the nationwide suppression of dissent, Cal Poly Humboldt and UPD are trying to charge Maggie with felony charges, and she has not even been notified why.

We are seeing a frightening descent into fascism, and an erosion of free speech and basic rights. Even if it was not violated, the University's "time place and manner" policies are a part of this trend. As we have seen with Mahmoud Khalil, this administration will not hesitate to stoop to any low to suppress dissent. The charges being leveled at Maggie and Raymond are clear indicators the school is willing to engage in Trumpism, something already shown when UPD bashed local indigenous peoples heads in last spring.

Maggie, is known by most as a goofy, kind, and loyal friend. She is quick to help even a stranger in need, and is not a violent terrorist, and neither is Mahmoud Khalil. We urge you to stand in solidarity with Maggie, Raymond, Mahmoud, and all oppressed peoples worldwide

This gofund me will help Maggie with legal fees and living expenses during these brutal times, as this repression also makes it exceedingly difficult to find work. She is also open to anyone in Humboldt who would hire her.
