My step-mom Lori has been in my life since I was 4 years old, and took my sister and I on as her own, never having biological children. My dad passed away suddenly a year ago leaving my now disabled step-mom alone.

She made a very difficult decision to move out of my childhood home, where she’s lived for 35+ years, and into my grandmother’s smaller, more manageable home. Unfortunately, we discovered that the A/C wasn’t working, and upon inspection realized the entire unit & HVAC needs to be replaced. Because she lives in Texas, and it’s the middle of the summer with temperatures reaching over 100 consistently, this isn’t a luxury, but a necessity.

We sought out several estimates, all over $20,000. Because she is disabled she is not able to work and unfortunately doesn’t qualify for any grants at this time. I am trying to raise some money to help her pay for it. Every dollar counts, and it is a surprise so if you know her, please don’t share this with her.
