Hi Everyone! My name is Lora Kaldaras, and I am doing this fundraiser for my parents to help cover their US immigration cost. In March 2022 they made a difficult decision to leave their home on 30+ years in Kharkiv, Ukraine and come live with me in the US. The decision has not come easy to them, but as with many Ukrainians who were forces to leave their homes, the fear of not waking up in the morning forced them to move. During these past two years all they could think of was going back home to their beloved city of Kharkiv. However, unfortunately, the end of the war in Ukraine is currently very elusive, and we are forced to think of ways to help them stay in the US longer than expected. It is very likely that in the near future they will lose their Temporary Protected Status granted by the US government that lets them stay and work here legally. Under these circumstances, I have made a decision to help them get green cards as my immediate relatives. While I am immensely happy to be able to do this for my parents, the cost of green card application and associated lawyer fees are quite high. Currently, the most realistic estimate from our lawyer is $12 000, which will help cover application and lawyer fees as well as required medical exam for both of them. I therefore am writing to ask you to donate what you can and spread the word about this fundraised among your friends and family. Every little bit will be a huge help towards keeping my parents safe.
