Help Liz and Lilli Stay in Their House!

We have had the privilege of renting a beautiful house north of New Orleans for three and a half years. Now, our landlords wish to sell the house, and we are raising money for a down-payment so that we can make an offer. They have graciously granted us first right to buy.

If our down-payment is large enough, our monthly mortgage will be in budget, and we will get to stay in a house that has become a home and a refuge for us.

For those of you who don't know, Lilli was diagnosed with end stage renal disease in December of 2023. After several long hospital visits and a near-death experience, she was placed on permanent dialysis until she gets a kidney transplant.

Our home has become a hospital since Lilli's diagnosis. We do home dialysis four days a week and have one room dedicated entirely to dialysis. The home is also accessible enough when Lilli needs the use of her wheelchair.

We absolutely love it here and have finally found a rhythm with working from home and caring for ourselves. We would be extremely humbled and grateful to anyone who is able to help us. If for some reason the funds received through this fundraiser are not enough to buy the house, we will use the funds to move and purchase another house with enough space for our needs, and in close proximity of our doctors.
