As we enter the spring and summer, we have come together once again as a community to help keep our parks safe and help deter activities that have affected quality of life for the surrounding residents and visitors alike. Safety measures can be accomplished very easily as we have proven with the additional STOP for Pedestrian signs. We have gotten very positive feedback and want to purchase more of these which when purchased in bulk we get better pricing. Please consider donating so we may purchase additional traffic signs and place in other areas that are vulnerable to high traffic other than Center. I will gladly work with the company to ensure we get them delivered timely!
Remember “IT TAKES A VILLAGE” and we want to work towards improving safety beyond just the waterfront. With support of you all we can make this happen and unite our surrounding neighborhoods and tell our city officials that we will not wait anymore....we need to make things happen and that is what we are about.
We had a very productive meeting with the DOT recently and they are set to review the suggestions and come back to us with solutions by the end of April. We will see some additions to help calm traffic and educate visitors to the speed limit and park hours along Center! We are collaborating strongly with the 108 with weekly meetings with the security team. Our efforts continue to make progress. In the meantime, we continue to reach out to city officials to ask for and suggest real solutions that work; we will not sit back and wait and we won't stop asking them to listen to our concerns.
Donations by each of us will go a long way to making everyone feel safe and comfortable. We are a community of giving and empathetic people who not only want to help ourselves but help others in need by organizing events to raise awareness!
