Keep Lewis and Lori Rolling Forward
Donation protected
Lewis and Lori have always been the kind of people who showed up for others. Lewis spent over 40 years as a master plumber, But unfortunately now he is left with serious lung issues that forced him into early retirement. Lori was a devoted stay-at-home mom, raising their children and later helping with their grandkids. She didn’t earn enough for Social Security benefits, and now relies on limited SSI while struggling with deteriorating leg strength and mobility.
Despite these challenges, Lewis and Lori have found small joys that mean everything: rolling through their neighborhood in power chairs, walking their two dogs—Jedi and Blue—to the park, and spending time with their grandkids. Just recently, Lewis was able to take his grandson Jamie fishing for the very first time, something made possible only because of his power chair and accessible areas. Lori loves going to the senior center to swim, which helps ease her joint pain and gives her a chance to connect with others.
Right now, they’re falling behind. They’re about $1,500 in debt from medical bills and everyday expenses, and by the 1st of next month, that will grow by another $300 just to make rent. With fixed incomes, there’s no cushion—just a growing weight of stress over losing the home that gives them access to independence and connection.
Your support will directly go to keeping Lewis and Lori in the home that allows them to move freely, stay connected to their family, and hold onto the joy of simple things—like a walk with their dogs or a quiet afternoon at the park. Every donation makes a difference. Even just sharing their story helps more than you know. Thank you for helping them keep rolling forward.
