My name is kim and this is a situation me my boyfriend never thought we would ever experience and I are facing the very real possibility of homelessness as we head into the new year. After months of ongoing issues with our landlord and my boyfriend struggling to secure steady work, we’ve reached a point we never imagined we’d be in.

My name is Daniel, and I’m struggling with how we ended up in this situation. I believed my responsibility was to work hard and make sure the rent and bills were always paid so we could stay secure. Taking a commission-based job resulted in a full month without pay, and that gap put us in a position we couldn’t recover from on our own. Kim did everything she could, but it became too much for one person.

I take accountability for the choices I made, and I’m actively looking for stable employment so this doesn’t happen again. Right now, we’re just trying to get through this critical moment and avoid losing our home.
