Hello!
Jr. Jackets is the largest violence prevention and intervention program in Berkeley, California. We serve 150 mostly African American Berkeley youth each season. The sports are the hook, our real purpose is leadership development, youth empowerment, mentoring, youth health and community safety.
This is a all volunteer-run organization.
We, the board members of the Young Lives Matter Foundation, are excited to be starting our seventh season of football and cheerleading. We are asking our communities to help in making this season a safe, empowering, joyful experience for our kids!
It costs $500 for each kid to participate for the season. Most of our families are not able to pay for uniform fees themselves. We are seeking financial support for helmets and shoulder pads. We are committed to ensuring our kids have the safest equipment possible.
We had no concussions last season, and you can help keep it that way!
Can you become part of the Jr. Jackets extended family by pitching in to buy safety equipment? $50 would be great, but any amount helps!
Thank you for giving as generously as you are able!
We will keep you updated here as the season unfolds.
Together we can keep our kids on the field and off the streets ~
Thank you!
