To the community who is able and willing to support an amazing human during these uncertain times that we are living in.

A dear friend, community member in Maui who has done and continues to do amazing & great work both in Maui with Kānaka Maoli & many other communities, across Turtle Island aka mainland with tribal members - Tolowa Dee-Ni' Nation, Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians- Oregon & CA, Makah - Olympic Peninsula, WA.

No, she didn't ask for this to be created. Yes, I asked if it was okay for this to be created because let's face it, when we are community organizers, supporters, givers, doers - doing good work, sometimes we forget to ask for help. I have lived through many uncertain times and the only reason I've made it through has been community and people who offered their kindness, heart, compassion, and financial support when I really needed it, and it meant the world to me. This is me supporting a kindred spirit in time of need. Community supports community; we can't do this alone.

Without further ado, here is part of Kelly Pott's current situation:

There is so much uncertainty with how our current administration is taking away jobs, and there are no guarantees if my DOE job will be able to follow through paying me for my time coaching for a high school surf team on Maui in Hawaii, even with verbal promises from my superiors that I will. Either way, if I get paid or I don’t, I can use all the support available to help put food in my belly and gas in my tank to show up power-filled for our student athletes, because the pay from the school does not cover much of the expenses involved with coaching this season. With your support, I can continue to give my all without fear of not being paid for my time at the end of the season. I’m grateful for your consideration in supporting this Wahine!
