Hello! My name is Issa and I am the solo parent of an older teen with specific support needs. My son has an official emotional support dog, Jake, who is like my other son. Jake has just been diagnosed with end-stage congestive heart failure and is now on monthly meds to keep him alive and comfortable.

I had a remote job with the Federal government until this current administration came and took away over 200,000 Federal jobs in one fell swoop. Mine was one of them. I’ve been searching for work for over a year but with the market over-saturated with unemployed people, I haven’t had any luck yet. In fact, I was just verbally offered a position after lengthy interviews and reference checks, only to have the offer rescinded when at the last minute they decided to add an entirely different job skill to the position that I do not possess. It’s been a year of dead ends and ever-increasing panic.

The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward our most urgent needs, including: 

• Housing and rent expenses


• Utilities and essential household bills


• Groceries and basic necessities


• Transportation and job-search-related expenses


• Jake's medications and veterinary care
