Meet Hope Daniels

My name is Hope Daniels. I’m a single mother of two, currently on maternity leave, doing everything I can to keep my family safe, secure and moving forward. I'm also a Psychology student at Houston Community College, driven by a deep desire to turn my pain into purpose—not just for myself, but for others walking similar paths. Education is my way forward, but right now, life’s obstacles are making that path harder to follow.

I was adopted through the foster care system as a child, and from an early age, I learned what it means to fight against the odds. That fight became even more personal after I suffered the heartbreaking loss of a child. While that pain never fully goes away, it has fueled my determination to break generational cycles and build a stable, loving future for my children.

A few weeks ago, I gave birth to a beautiful baby who needed extended NICU care. Since then, more challenges have piled on. My car recently broke down and needs a CV axle replacement, leaving me without reliable transportation. This makes it nearly impossible to attend classes, return to work after maternity leave, or meet my children’s everyday needs.

Rent is also due soon, and without support, I risk falling behind—or worse, losing our apartment. We’ve been in a shelter before, and I’m doing everything in my power to avoid going back. I just want to stay in place, keep my children safe, and continue building toward a brighter future.

Despite everything, I continue to show up, stay focused, and push forward for my kids. I’m asking for help—not a handout, but a lifeline. Your support means stability, opportunity, and a chance to keep going during a critical time in our lives.
