Help Gabby & Her Kids Stay Housed
Hi, I’m Mary Metzger—but to my grandkids, I’m Gummy.
I never thought I’d be writing something like this, but my daughter Gabby and her children need help—and she’s the kind of person who would never want to burden anyone by asking.
Gabby has spent the last 12 years raising three beautiful kids with almost no support. She’s never been able to work—not because she didn’t want to, but because there was no one to help her. Even when they lived near family, she was left to carry everything on her own.
This past year, everything caught up with her. Gabby was finally diagnosed with POTS, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and ADHD—conditions she’s likely lived with for years, pushing through pain and exhaustion without answers. The truth is, she’s been burning out quietly for a very long time.
Then in April, her partner was placed on unpaid medical leave. And just two weeks ago, Gabby had to undergo surgery to remove a 7cm cyst from her ovary. She’s still healing, but there’s no time to rest when rent and bills are due.
They’re now behind on:
• $1,700 in rent
• $650 car payment
• Nearly $1,000 in overdue utilities
Gabby is trying so hard to move forward. She’s studying for her GED. She’s applying for jobs, even though she’s never been able to build a work history because she’s always been the one holding everything together.
But right now, she needs a hand—just long enough to get back on her feet.

What Your Help Supports
• Rent and utilities to keep them housed
• Their only vehicle, so they can get to school, appointments, and interviews
• Groceries and essentials for a young family trying to rebuild
If you can give or share, it would mean the world to our family.
Thank you for seeing Gabby—and for helping her carry this, even just for a little while.
With love and hope,
Mary “Gummy” Metzger
