Keep Families Together- The Porters

Friends and family, I'm reaching out seeking your support and aid for myself and my family. Some of you are aware that I emigrated to the United States when I was 3 years old. I have gone to school here, graduated high school, a professional college, worked in Healthcare over 15 years, been married for 13 years and have two boys, Elijah and Emmett, who are 9 and 11 years old. In all of that time, I have not been able to obtain permanent residency.

Recently, the government announced an opportunity for people like me who are married to U.S citizens to be able to apply for residency without having to leave the country. This is tremendous and wonderful news seeing as how I would not have to be parted from my husband, kids, and fur kids. The journey won't be short, there will be lawyer fees, filing fees, and application fees.

I'm asking for your help now to aid us in covering some of this cost as we are hopeful that we can finally feel safe in not being separated. This country is my home, it is the only home I have ever known, this is my family whom I love dearly and for which I have spent years living in the anxiety of possibly being separated.

I am grateful to each of you for the influence you have been in my life thus far and for the kind friendship that you all have extended to me throughout the years.
