Hi folks! I could really urgently use some help. I've been searching for work since I was laid off in late January due to federal budget cuts at a non-profit, and am about to have to move out of my living situation that I can no longer afford once the lease ends in April. My relationship with the woman I'm still living with has ended and I'm hoping to be able to afford to move in somewhere with roommates as I get back on my feet in order to support myself, and go from there. I'm getting a little bit from unemployment but not enough to sign a lease anywhere, and those funds are about to hit their maximum allotted amount, so I will lose that bit of aid very soon. I desperately want to keep living somewhere remotely close to where I am now and stay in my new home state, as living elsewhere as a trans woman fills me with dread. After relocating from Arkansas in December 2024, it has been an uphill battle to create stability for myself, and I've only just recently gotten consistently back onto antidepressants which has been really good for me. Fortunately I have state healthcare for now. I feel like I belong here and that this is my home, and I need to make it work by any means necessary. I don't have a car of my own and currently rely on public transit, so I'll be searching for somewhere with proximity to accessible options and take a long commute with affordable housing to make things work-- whatever I have to do to avoid being unhoused.
