Crown High School was promised as a permanent Gaithersburg high school to relieve overcrowding, provide local access, and serve our growing community. Now there is a rushed proposal to use Crown HS as a temporary holding school. This proposal lacks any process, transparency, and community engagement, putting the future of our students and impacted communities at risk. If approved as a holding school, this would delay the use of Crown HS for Gaithersburg communiteis for decade or more.

This proposal contradicts the express purpose and intent of the school presented during state and county planning, budget submissions and community engagement process.

To date, engaged members have been using their own financial resources to spread awareness to prepare canvassing materials. As this community expands, funds donated will exclusively support opposition to this proposal as we seek multi-channel outreach as well as legal consultation and representation (should there be a need for one).
