Keep Community Theater Alive in the Philippines

My name is Jayson N. Maximo, a theater director and public school teacher based in the Philippines. I founded a community theater group dedicated to showcasing the talents of local artists and out-of-school youth—young people who often have no platform to be seen, heard, and believed in.

For years, I have personally funded our productions using my own salary as a teacher. I do this because I firmly believe in the power of the arts to transform lives. Theater gives young people a voice, a purpose, and a safe space to express their struggles, hopes, and dreams. It helps them build confidence, discipline, and a strong sense of identity grounded in their values and beliefs.

However, life has recently given me a difficult challenge. I was diagnosed with diabetes, and managing my health has made it increasingly difficult to continue shouldering the financial burden alone. Between medication, checkups, and daily living expenses, I now struggle to balance my personal needs with my mission for the youth.

Yet my passion for the arts remains strong.

I see the beauty of theater in shaping young minds. I see how it keeps the youth away from destructive paths. I see how it builds leaders, storytellers, and responsible citizens. Our productions are not just performances—they are lessons in discipline, teamwork, patriotism, and cultural pride.

Through your support, we will be able to:
-Continue staging meaningful community productions
-Provide workshops and training for young artists
-Support out-of-school youth through creative programs
-Cover basic production needs such as costumes, sets, and technical equipment

Your donation is not just supporting a theater group.
You are supporting dreams.
You are supporting culture.
You are supporting the future of Filipino youth.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in the power of art and community.
