Keep Chae out of Custody Jail

It's Nov 2020, Covid-19 is currently the worst it has ever been in the U.S. I'm a Black Trans woman who's trying her best despite the circumstances. 

This year we broke the record in all of U.S. history for unemployment. I've been furloughed since April due to the pandemic, and my Ex-Wife takes me to court for back child support. 

This is despite the fact that I care for, house, and feed my son 3 out of 7 days a week, every week. I buy him clothes, shoes, toys, games, pay for his coding courses, and Korean School. I am not an absent parent. I haven't even been on HRT for well over a year to have money for him.  My child wants for nothing. Even though I've been furloughed I've been working my ass of at odd jobs, temp positions, and my own crafts to provide. I do right by my son, but when she and her family somehow allowed a drunk grown man to strip naked in the home and stumble into my son's bed one night she refused to take him to therapy even after I sent her multiple resources and offered to pay for it. 

So if I am providing for my son and doing right by him why would she come after me knowing we're still in the midst of a pandemic? I asked her directly what happened to her promise that she wouldn't make me pay child support since I am an active parent. She stated that it's because  we're not "friends" anymore. This is after she conned my mom out of $10,000. This is after she left me with thousands of dollars of back rent and damages to my house. No wonder we're not friends. How does friendship factor into child support?

So the same judge that let my ex's lawyer be openly transphobic to me during the divorce hearing immediately wanted to throw me in jail. My ex and the judge decided instead that I have until Feb 1st to pay $1300 or I will go to jail. In addition I must start paying $400/month immediately. That means I need to somehow come up with roughly and extra $850/month until Feb just to stay out of jail despite taking care of my son. I provided 20 pages of documents proving that I have been working, that I am currently employed but furloughed, and that I do provide for my son but the court doesn't care about a Trans Woman of color. I need help. They'll likely send me to a men's facility where I'll be met with the threat of violence constantly. 

Just to refute any claims that she needs the money to care for our child let me add some context. 

-During the divorce last year she took and sold my house, making $28,000 while I made $1,800.

-She has a stable hospital job because I helped her get a Phlebotomy certification. How did I help her? My mom got her a 20 hr/week job to help her with bills. If she had to study I would go work her job for her. I also routinely volunteered as a pin cushion for her to physically practice drawing blood on. I gave literal sweat and blood for her certification. 

-She has dual income with her fiancé. I'm providing for my son on my own.

-Soul gets bounced between his mom, grandma, and great grandmother constantly so he's not in a child care facility. That's not an expense she has to worry about.

-She only has him 1 day more than me per week. How does 1 day =$100 in child care?

Please help me stay out of jail. I'm a good parent. I do my best for my kid. I just unfortunately married someone who would choose to support themselves despite what's good for the child.
