Seattle families deserve safe, personalized birth options — but those choices are disappearing.
As hospitals consolidate and community birth spaces close their doors, families have fewer ways to welcome new life outside of a hospital setting. Freestanding birth centers are vital — offering calm, midwife-led care that centers families and honors birth as a natural, empowering experience.
Center for Birth is one of Seattle’s few remaining independent birth centers — and we’re fighting to keep this choice alive.
Why We Need You
Running a birth center in Seattle is beautiful, but it’s not easy. We are a small business, a healthcare provider, and a community gathering place — all under one roof.
Every day, we navigate rising commercial rents, inadequate insurance reimbursements, and the demands of providing 24/7 compassionate care. We do this because we believe every family deserves options and every baby deserves to be born into a space that feels safe and loving.
Now, we’re asking for your help to keep this vision alive and help it grow.
Your Gift Makes a Real Difference
Your donation helps us:

✨ Provide care to more families, regardless of income
Birth centers are closing across the country — but together, we can make sure Seattle remains a place where families have real choices in how they birth and are cared for.
This is More Than Healthcare — It’s Community
When you give, you’re protecting the art and heart of midwifery. You’re saying yes to safe, personalized care. And you’re showing that we take care of each other, from the very beginning of life.
If you can, please donate today — every gift matters and brings us closer to a stronger, thriving future for birth center care in Seattle.
