Hello everyone! We’re Jing Shao Nian, a youth-led Cantonese Opera company working to pass down a centuries-old art form to the next generation. Our students come from across the SF Bay Area, including schools like Chinese American International School, West Portal Elementary, and Hoover Middle School. Many of them are low-income, and we keep our program fees as low as possible so every child has the chance to take part.

Beyond teaching, we bring Cantonese Opera into the community—performing at senior centers and cultural events—sharing this tradition with elders who grew up with it and introducing it to young audiences who might never otherwise encounter it.

But recent arts funding cuts have put us in a very fragile position. To keep this program alive—for our kids, for our seniors, and for the survival of Cantonese Opera in the Bay Area—we need your support. Every contribution helps us continue offering classes, rehearsals, and community performances.
