I'm Deborah Phillips, Founder and Executive Director of Block Love Charlotte, and we need your help.

Help Block Love Charlotte Secure a New Home and Protect Essential Services
For the past five years, Block Love Charlotte has been more than a building — it has been a lifeline.

Since 2020, we have served over 2.5 million meals and provided daily support to hundreds of neighbors experiencing homelessness and hardship across Charlotte. Every day, people walk through our doors for food, stability, resources, and dignity.

Today, we are facing an urgent crisis.

Under new property ownership, the rent for our Day Service Center is being quadrupled — an increase we simply cannot sustain. Our lease ended December 31, 2025, and we are currently operating month-to-month. Without immediate action, we risk losing the accessible, transit-friendly space that so many depend on.

This is not just about relocating a building.
This is about protecting a lifeline.

It’s about the mother working toward stable housing who needs job readiness support.
It’s about the senior who depends on us for daily meals.
It’s about individuals rebuilding their lives who need lockers, mail services, and a safe place during the day.

We are launching a $250,000 Relocation & Stabilization Campaign to secure a new location and ensure uninterrupted services for our community.

How Your Donation Will Be Used
We believe in full transparency. Every dollar will directly support relocating and sustaining our Day Service Center:

$40,000 – Rent & CAM Fees
Secures a safe, accessible facility for one year.

$17,000 – Utilities, Insurance & Technology
Keeps the lights on, internet connected, and operations protected.

$50,000 – Programs
Supports housing navigation, job readiness, mental health connections, life skills, and economic stability classes.

$18,000 – Meals & Essential Supplies
Provides daily meals, grocery giveaways, hygiene kits, clothing, and critical supplies.

$25,000 – Transportation Assistance
Funds ride shares and bus passes so neighbors can access work, medical care, and housing appointments.

$100,000 – Staffing
Supports the frontline team who make this work possible every single day.

When you give, you are not just donating to an organization.
You are investing in dignity.
You are protecting access.
You are standing in the gap for someone who needs it most.

If you believe that neighbors helping neighbors can transform a city, we ask you to give today.

Important Organizational Update
In the spirit of transparency, we want to share that Block Love Charlotte’s tax-exempt status was recently revoked due to delinquent IRS filings. All required IRS filings have now been submitted, and we are currently awaiting formal reinstatement.

We have taken corrective action, including implementing strengthened financial oversight procedures and compliance safeguards to ensure this does not happen again. Our board and leadership team have put systems in place to maintain timely reporting and ongoing accountability.

We deeply appreciate the grace, understanding, and continued support from our community during this process. Our commitment to serving with integrity, transparency, and excellence remains unwavering.

If you are unable to give, please share this campaign with your network. Awareness is just as powerful.

Together, we can secure a new home for Block Love Charlotte and ensure that no one loses access to hope, stability, and community.

With gratitude,
