Keep Baby Amelia and her Family in their House

Background: Amelia Rush was born with mosaic trisomy 22, a rare genetic disorder that can cause growth and developmental delays and affect multiple bodily systems.  Being born alone was a miracle. The life expectancy for any baby that is born with this disorder is 4 days.  Since she was born almost three years ago, Amelia has endured eight surgeries and multiple other procedures. Yet, she still smiles and so does her family. Because of her many medical problems and complications, she is in and out of the hospital constantly (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia). 

Housing Crisis: When Amelia is in the hospital, one of her parents always stays with her in the hospital. The other parent has to take care of their other four children at home. Because of this very difficult situation, Amelia’s dad has been unable to work steadily. They had previously had enough money to pay for the whole year’s rent on the house where they are living, but that will be coming due again on April 1. They have no money to pay it, and will have nowhere to live with Amelia and their other four children. 

We know the Rush family because they are a part of our church family. They are very loving and caring people and both parents love Amelia and all their children dearly. Our goal is to raise $33,000 to pay for the next year’s rent so the family can continue to stay in the house. We would so greatly appreciate any donation you could make.
