We’re trying to raise money for a trailer/stroller for our daughter, Amelia. She’s autistic, nonverbal, and blind (septo-optic dysplasia and optic nerve hypoplasia). Because of that, it’s hard for her to be active or get outdoors the way most kids can.
These strollers are prohibitively expensive, often costing thousands of dollars, but they’re built to last and sized so Amelia can use them well into adulthood. Her last running stroller was a lifesaver, but she outgrew it a year or two ago—her legs were dangling over the front and dragging on the ground by the end.
This new stroller would make a huge difference for us as a family. It’s built for running and can also hitch to the back of a bike, so we can take Amelia with us on rides or runs instead of leaving her out or not doing it at all! She loves putting on music and feeling the wind in her hair, and this will give her more chances to enjoy that safely and comfortably.
For us, it means we can stay active together and include Amelia in more of what we do as a family. Any help getting there would mean a lot. It’s also a perfect way to give to Amelia as a birthday gift, a Christmas gift, or even to celebrate my birthday—really for any reason at all.
The stroller/trailer we are hoping for.
