Support a Ukrainian Family That Lost Their Humanitarian Parole Status—Help Keep Them Safe and Housed.
Hello everyone, my family sponsored a Ukrainian family of 5 (plus their two adorable dogs) to temporarily move to Ohio as part of the "Uniting for Ukraine" (U4U) program. This is a humanitarian parole program that allowed eligible Ukrainians to come to the U.S. for up to two years after the Russian invasion. My family did this in order to save their lives. It was a leap of faith for my family, as well as this Ukrainian family.
I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of this family, who has been living in Ohio under this urgent humanitarian parole status. Despite seeking an extension six months ago, their parole status expired on December 3rd. This means they have lost the ability to continue working, driving, and receiving health care. They are now facing urgent legal, financial, and health care challenges. This family fled the war in Ukraine seeking safety, stability, and the chance to rebuild their lives. They have been working hard, with multiple jobs, doing everything in their power to stay on their feet. With the sudden loss of status, they are no longer eligible to work or drive, making expenses and housing costs that much more difficult to manage. They urgently need support while they navigate their next steps.
Funds will go directly towards:
Housing and essential bills
Food and basic necessities
Medical bills
Legal assistance and consultation fees
I am organizing this fundraiser with permission, and all the funds will be transferred directly to them. Any amount helps. Thank you so much for your kindness and support during this extremely stressful period for this family.
