Help a Hardworking Young Woman and Her Brother Stay Housed

Dear Friends, Supporters, and Community,

My name is LaKee Moss, and I am a Social Worker with INSTEAD, a non-profit program providing intensive case management services to individuals who have been arrested due to psychosis. Today, I am reaching out for help on behalf of a determined and resilient young woman who is facing an urgent housing crisis.

Her Story
This young woman recently earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music in December and is set to walk across the stage in May 2025. Despite working full-time at McDonald’s, she is struggling to afford housing for herself and her medically and mentally ill brother, with whom she currently shares a motel room. The cost of the motel is $500 per week, and while some family members have helped, they are unable to provide ongoing financial support.

She is actively seeking employment in the music industry where she can utilize her degree, but in the meantime, she is at risk of losing the only shelter she and her brother have.

The Urgent Need
As of Wednesday, March 26, 2025, she has just over $200, but if she does not come up with the remaining funds by tomorrow, she and her brother will be forced to leave the motel on Friday.

We are hoping to raise enough money to keep them housed in the motel at least until she graduates in May or until a stable housing solution is secured.

How You Can Help
Any contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly toward:
✔ Weekly motel costs to keep her and her brother housed.
✔ Basic necessities such as food and transportation.
✔ Assistance in securing stable, long-term housing.

If you are unable to donate but have resources or leads on housing assistance, please share them with me at [[email redacted]].

Let’s Keep Her Dream Alive
This young woman has worked hard to earn her degree and provide for her brother. With just a little support, we can help her stay safe, housed, and on track to build the future she has worked so hard for.

Please donate if you can, and share this campaign with your network. Together, we can make a difference.

Thank you, and may you be blessed for your kindness and generosity!

With gratitude,
LaKee Moss, LMSW
