Kyle Danaher's Eagle Project

Many of you know I have been active in scouting for a long time. I began as a Tiger Scout and I am currently a Life Scout. In addition I am a member of the Order of the Arrow. Currently I am in preparation for the highest rank in Boy Scouting, Eagle Scout. I have also served as a camp counselor for 2 years assisting and teaching younger scouts. Scouting has afforded me the opportunity to learn many things from survival in the outdoors, service to my community and country, First Aid and Emergency Preparedness as well as business skills.

In order to be awarded my Eagle Scout rank, I need to obtain, plan and execute a community service project. I have chosen to do my Eagle service project at Ivy Academia High School/Shomrei Torah Synagogue where I attend school. Ivy Academia recently moved the high school campus and now shares the facility with Shomrei Torah Synagogue. My project will be a benefit to the students and staff of Ivy and the Shomrei Community.

On the campus I plan on building a 14x20 shade structure over one of the outdoor eating areas. I also will be cleaning out and laying wood chips there and another area of the school that will be used as a study or eating area for students and staff. I have a plan to fix a run off drain and secure the retaining wall near the shade structure. There is also a covered area in the back of the main building that will be cleaned and gravel will be put in to allow for another outside area.

In order to achieve my goal I will need a lot of help to obtain the materials for my project. My goal for the project is to raise at least $5000. For the project I will need concrete, lumber, ground cover, bolts, paint, food and volunteers to help. Donations will play a vital role in the success of my Eagle Project.

The dates for my project will be comprised of a prep weekend on August 17th & 18th and the main project will be the weekend of August 24th and 25th. I would deeply appreciate it if you would consider donating to help the success of my Eagle community project. Any amount large or small will help make a difference and donations are tax deductible.

Any funds left will be donated back to my project site for additional improvements. Thank you in advance for your consideration and support. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,
Kyle Danaher
