KD raising for Ruiru Rehabilitation
Donation protected
As you know I'm turning 5-0 this year and am doing various things to celebrate the milestone with family & friends.
Rather than birthday gifts, I thought this was a great opportunity for family and friends, should they wish, to instead consider a charitable gift to support a Children's home that our family support in Nairobi, Kenya. This is something close to my heart.
Ruiru Rehabilitation Centre is a home for children rescued from the streets, orphaned or who have been entrusted to the centre by family members unable to give them proper care. The children, currently between the ages of 6 to 14 attend primary education and live at the centre where all basic necessities are provided. Once they progress to secondary school as well as higher learning institutions they continue to support the children for both accommodation (boarding) as well as support in gaining employment. There are so many success stories from Ruiru, with many lives having been changed.
It’s a home where a number of our family members from Kenya and the UK volunteer and contribute, so is very meaningful to our family.
I have visited the centre numerous times and have seen first hand the work they do for some of the most vunerable children in the world and they really help them achieve better outcomes.
Any funds raised will help in the day to day operating costs of running the centre as well as some of the improvement projects that are planned.
Zero pressure but any gifts to Ruiru will be gratefully received....
Love
