If you are lucky enough to know Sam and Letty, you know how generous, thoughtful, and loyal they are. They have helped countless people, opened their home to those in need, given of their time, and they don’t ask for anything in return. They have personally blessed me in so many ways, so please help me show them some love in their time of need!

Letty and Sam desperately want another child, but they have been struggling with secondary infertility for six years. They had their son, Stephen, in 2013. It wasn’t until after he was born that they realized just how truly miraculous their first pregnancy was, as they both have medical issues that affect fertility. Sam was diagnosed with Type-1 diabetes in 2014, and when Letty first sought out a fertility specialist in 2017, she discovered that she had a thyroid issue which would make it difficult for her to get pregnant naturally. Sam was hospitalized in 2019 with life threatening diabetic complications, which further exacerbated his health. Through all of these setbacks, they persevered for years in trying to have a baby, seeking out many specialized doctors to try to get in optimal health.

In April 2020, they returned to Shady Grove Fertility to try to move forward with treatments. Due to the nature of their fertility issues, several attempts at IUI have been heartbreakingly unsuccessful. In January 2021, they attempted one last round of IUI. This time the result was a positive pregnancy test, almost immediately followed by several negative ones. The doctors confirmed she had a very early miscarriage. Letty and Sam have paid for all of these treatments and specialists out of their own pocket for nearly six years with no insurance help. Their doctor feels that taking the next step - IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) - will significantly boost their chances of a healthy pregnancy.  However, IVF is very costly (nearly 10X that of their previous attempts), and while they would wait to save and pay for it alone, I hope that we can help get them started as soon as possible by easing their financial burden.

They have had a long and difficult journey, but they aren’t ready to give up the dream of growing their family. Infertility is such a painful burden to bear; it is exhausting and dream-shattering. I would love for us to come alongside them and help them bring home a baby.

Any little bit helps. Thank you all so much!
