Kayn Brian GaethkeBorn March 13th at 1:54am, weighing in at 6lbs and 19.5inchs long, this little miracle has stole the hearts of many. His parents, Alex and Olivia Gaethke, are so very proud of their little warrior.
Kayn was born with a congenital heart defect required him to have open-heart surgery after birth. He is currently being treated in the PICU in Madison.
Kayn has had many ups and downs, and is currently battling ventilator induced pneumonia. He is heavily sedated the majority of the time to help reduce the stress on his little body.
It is currently unknown how long Kayn will remain in the PICU. There is a possibility that he will need to stay until after his next surgery at 5-6 months of age.
