Kayaking for kids
Shane Friel, Shaun McGarvey, Jason McCahill and Colin Talbot are currently training hard, they are undertaking two kayaking journeys totalling 40 miles to raise funds for a triad of charities; The Bumbleance, Irish wheelchair association and for the Toland family whose daughter Niamh remaims very unwell and still undergoing treatment in Dublin.
The Bumbleance transfers young children to hospital, whose life limiting illness inhibits their ability to travel in a car. This organisation reliestotally on charitable funding and supports Families all over the ROI, making hospital treatment accessible for those who need it.
The Irish wheelchair association has long sincebeen operating in Ireland since 1960, operating across 32 branches. Their support to wheelchair users has been insurmountable, we hope to offer a donation that will give their service users a boost at an especially difficult time, covid has caused separation and loneliness for many who could not leave their homes due to underlying conditions.
Niamh’s mother continues to travel with her daughter to Dublin from Donegal, and is paying a substantial amount for loss of wages, fuel and accommodation whilst her daughter is in hospital. Three worthy causes widely known, they will be extremely appreciative of any donations. We would like to note that donations will remain within the Donegal area branches/services. Please give generously to those who are reliant on these services in order to manage their disabilities and ongoing poor health.
