Katya’s 2023 NYC Marathon with KIPP New York

I am thrilled (and terrified) to announce that I am embarking on an incredible personal challenge. On November 5th, I will be running the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon - 26.2 miles across 5 boroughs in one of the greatest cities in the world. This will be my FIRST marathon, I am very excited, nervous about it and need your support in this endeavor.

I’ve been training hard over the next few months to get into long distance running shape (a feat that involves pushing through incredible body pain and fatigue as well as staying super disciplined about training) and I will raise money for NYC’s educational charity.

I strongly believe that every child deserves access to the best education possible and quality education improves people’s lives. I'm running to raise funds for KIPP NYC Public Schools, a non-profit organization that operates 18 public charter schools in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. Founded in 1995, KIPP NYC supports more than 7,100 students and over 2,500 alumni. Together, with families, they envision a place where every child grows up free to create the future they want for themselves and their communities.
