Katrina's Kids

In 2016, I got an opportunity to meet and eventually hire Katrina Bell for a position within the LSU Health Shreveport system.  This was one of the best hiring decisions I could have made. Katrina was very outgoing, loving, kind, smart,  witty, intelligent, and easygoing.  She loved helping and was very generous in giving to others.  Katrina always showed respect toward others and was loved by everyone within her department.   She indeed never met a stranger and was an exceptional colleague. 
 
Over the years, our relationship evolved from being more than just a supervisor to an employee; we became friends.  Even though she had many difficult and challenging health issues, I never once heard Katrina complain or act as if she would give up.  I saw how she was a fighter, which became evident over the past several years as she battled Stage 4 Breast Cancer.  Her contagious smile and friendly demeanor was loved by all and will be missed at the LSU Health Medical Library and by many others.  She fought like a champion up until the end. 
 
Katrina was always talking about her family (children Jaylen and Jakayla) and the things they said or did. Her family was a priority, and she truly loved her kids and was so proud of them.
