This year, on April 30, Katrina would have been 38 years old. Katrina was 21 years old when she died by suicide. She was a smart, funny, kind, and beautiful young woman who had a misdiagnosed mental illness.

Ten years ago, the Katrina Tagget Memorial Foundation donated funds to establish a memorial garden at the Howard County Conservancy. We called the garden, Garden of Life. Our goal was to create a place to honor those who died by suicide and to be a place to go to reflect on our loved ones who died by suicide. Anyone can visit the garden. This year, we are raising funds for the maintenance of the garden, which occurs every 10 years. The total maintenance is $6,000, which half will be paid by us. Times are tough.
