Katie's World Scout Jamboree fundraiser
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Katie and I am an Explorer Scout with 1st Amesbury Scout Group which is part of Salisbury and South Wilts district Scouts . I am 15 and have been in scouting for 5 years. I have recently received an amazing opportunity to represent Wiltshire scouts at the World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) in South Korea in 2023. In order to attend, I have to raise the huge amount of £4000 - some of this pays for me to attend and some will go towards helping scouts in poorer countries to attend. I would be grateful for any support you are willing to give.
Three Peaks Sponsored Climb
A major fundraising event for me this summer is to climb each of the 3 peaks - Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis. I hope to be able to do this between the 29th of July to the 1st of August and will be doing some practice/training before that. I'll update you along the way. If you could sponsor me to do this, then I'd be extremely grateful!
More about The World Scout Jamboree
The WSJ happens every 4 years and brings together 50,000 scouts from over 100 nations to "Think Big. Dream wild. Act together" for a more sustainable world where everybody is welcome. It is an opportunity to meet new people, experience different cultures and learn new skills through scientific and adventure activities, cultural demonstrations and teamwork challenges.
So far I have sold knitted Easter chicks at our local country market, done carboot sales, helped run a raffle and delivered promotional leaflets. You can see some pictures of these in my photos. I plan to organise other events to help with my fundraising and help promote the World Scout Jamboree and Scouting. Watch this space for my next event!
Thank you again for any support you can give; no matter how big or small, it will help me achieve my goal.
