For 17 months, Katie Nuss has been fighting to beat cancer. With the support of her loving family, the joy from her 3 young children, and her tenacious spirit the fight continued with seemingly good updates.
However, two weeks ago, things began to take a different direction. She was admitted to the hospital for a week, released for two days, only to return for very unwelcome news.
Just a few days ago, we found out she is in liver failure due to chemotherapy treatments.
Her prognosis was not positive, giving her a very short window of 1 - 4 weeks of life left. Currently at a hospice facility in Barrington, Anthony & family are working to get Katie home in hopes of a comfortable and peaceful "until later."
Her husband, Anthony, will continue raising their three children, Kaylee (2.5yo), Ryder (4) and Olin (9) wrapped in Katie's love and spirit. In the meantime, are taking as much time to be present with her and praying for every extra alert moment they have with her.
Contributions will go toward medical and memorial bills, grief support, the children's savings/education accounts for later use, and appropriate living expenses that may support the ease of Anthony's transition. No amount is too big or too small.
We pray for all those whose path has crossed with Katie's. She is a light & will be deeply missed by everyone her smile has touched.
