Legal Expense Relief for Katie Shanahan Moriarty
Donation protected

Katie is a single mother of three young children. In October 2018 she separated from her husband of 8 years. First striving for a dissolution, Katie realized such an agreement was unlikely. She filed for divorce in December of the same year. Katie has been in litigation ever since. In that time, she's incurred tremendous costs and has paid over $100,000 over the last 2 1/2 years in her fight for her family.
Katie is close to the finish line with just over a month away from what she prays is her last court date, but unfortunately, she can no longer afford her legal fees. Katie currently has a balance due of $11,000 and future fees for their final proceedings are estimated to be an additional $20,000 - $30,000 (or more).
The details of Katie's divorce are intricate and private. However, her divorce had an opportunity for resolution close to a year ago but then the COVID pandemic struck. The pandemic has caused the closing of Katie's local domestic courts on multiple occasions, pushing all of their pending proceedings further out. With every continuance, Katie has needed to pay tens of thousands in additional fees to maintain legal representation.
The COVID-19 pandemic has created a financial strain on too many of us, and Katie wishes she was the one contributing and not the one asking for help. Every little bit counts, and Katie will be forever appreciative to anyone who gives any amount.
I am grateful every day that Katie and her kids are beloved members of our family. She is always concerned about other people's happiness and is a devoted and dedicated mother to her three kids. Watching her struggle through this unprecedented pandemic has been heartbreaking to see and I am hopeful that we can come together and lift Katie and her children up during their time of need. I know she would do the same for any of us.
